Quentin Tarantino: Cult Icon

Quentin Tarantino is considered one of the most popular and influential Hollywood filmmakers in contemporary cinema. His rise in popularity since the early 1990s has seen him become recognised with critical acclaim. Tarantino also holds a strong and dedicated cult fan base, since his debut Reservoir Dogs (1992), who flock to cinema screens to see anything heContinueContinue reading “Quentin Tarantino: Cult Icon”

World War II and It’s Affect on Hollywood

Following the events of Pearl Harbour in December of 1941, the United States declared war on Nazi Germany, entering the Second World War after years of isolationism. Get Out (2017)

Jordan Peele’s directorial debut Get Out combines the horror and comedy genres to create a movie that tackles the largest socio-political subject taking place in modern America, racism. Thor: Ragnarok (2017)

have never been the biggest fan of Thor in the Marvel Cinema Universe (MCU). It’s not that I hate his character, but I have never connected with him like I have with the likes of Iron Man, Spiderman or Star Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy. However, Taika Waititi has transformed this character to create possibly my favourite MCU movie to date, and with Infinity War around the corner, it’s going to take a huge effort to dethrone it.

The Snowman (2017)

Talented cast, the director of ‘Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy’, and adapted from a best-selling novel. No way this could be a bad movie, right? Wrong. This film is a complete mess and unfortunately may quite possibly be the most disappointing films of the year.
